Description Detail. Methodist Episcopal General Conference, held at Napanee, August, 1874

Rev. Hiram Williams was born in Prince Edward County in about 1822 and so from birth had connections with the Bay of Quinte, but his wife, Lucy, was an American. During his early days preaching, he may have been stationed in Ross township, Renfrew county. If so, it may have been the only one of his ministries removed from the Quinte area. In 1871, he was serving in Thurlow township, Hastings county.

By 1881, Lucy, Hiram and six children had moved to neighbouring Richmond township, north of Napanee.

Rev. Williams' last parish was in Thurlow township, Hastings county. He died on August 3rd, 1891, likely in Belleville.
