Detail. Methodist Episcopal General Conference, held at Napanee, August, 1874 Sylvester L. Kerr may have been a lay delegate to the conference. He was born in about 1826 in the United States. He appears on the Canada Census in both 1871 and 1881 in Grey county, but his occupation is "farmer". His wife's name is Susan. On the 1891 Canada Census, Sylvester and Susan are in Toronto, in St. Lawrence Ward, and his occupation is given as "clergyman". He died suddenly of an heart attack in Toronto on June 4th, 1896. His death registration also gives his occupation as "clergyman".
