Detail. Methodist Episcopal General Conference, held at Napanee, August, 1874 Rev. Emerson Bristol, age 63, was born in about 1813, in the United States (Palmyra, N.Y). During the early 1850's, he was preaching in the Niagara district. In 1871 and 1881, he was stationed in Ancaster, Wentworth county. Rev. Bristol was an immensely popular preacher. At least a dozen babies were named for him during the 1870's. He died in Tilsonburg on July 9th, 1895 of typhoid fever at the age of 82.
